Updated: 2026-07-24

The Fremantle–Cockburn Sound Survey/Acquisition was conducted by Geoscience Australia (GA) and the Coastal Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) onboard the Motor Vessel (M/V) Reliance from 12–13 July 2004 using a Reson SeaBat 8125 (455 kHz) multibeam echosounder. The data was collected under the Coastal Water Habitat Mapping Project to support assessments of seabed habitat, sediment characteristics, and coastal geomorphology. This dataset contains a high resolution 32 bit floating point GeoTIFF bathymetry surface derived from processed multibeam data using standard hydrographic software. Appropriate acknowledgment must be given to Dr Brendan Brooke. Not to be used for navigational purposes
